Over here at Lakshmi Nirman (Ban) Pvt Ltd, things are a bit different than the city offices. We are located at Kadhair Kadai Thottam in S.Aalayampalayam, which is near Sathyamangalam in the Erode district. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but the air is cleaner than in town. Our postal code is 638402. The office is basically surrounded by greenery and fields, so you hear birds and the occasional tractor instead of city buses. It’s a practical place where we handle our business affairs without any of the fancy trimmings you’d find in a big city center. We’ve got a couple of rooms where we keep our records and a table where we sit down to discuss the day's tasks. The building is sturdy and does the job. Most of our workers come from the nearby villages in Tamil Nadu, so there’s a lot of local talk about the weather and the crops while we work. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll probably find one of us drinking tea or looking over a map. It’s a quiet life out here, but the work keeps us on our toes. We just try to get things done correctly and head home before it gets too dark on the rural roads. It’s an honest way to spend the day.
