Kgm Cafe

Kgm Cafe sits right here in Bharathiyar Nagar in Kangayam. It is not a very big place, just a simple spot where we spend most of our days. When we first opened up here, the street was a bit quieter than it is now. Most mornings start early, usually before the sun really gets hot. We spend a lot of time wiping down the counters and getting things ready for whoever walks through the door first. It is mostly people from around the neighborhood stopping by. You see the same faces every day, which is nice because we do not really have to ask what they want anymore. The fans overhead hum all day long. Sometimes it gets a little crowded when the schools let out or when people are headed home from work. We do not have fancy furniture or anything like that. Just some chairs and tables that have seen a lot of use over the years. We keep the doors open so the breeze can come in, though sometimes it just brings in the dust from the road. Working here in Kangayam is steady. It is just what we do. We are usually busy with something, whether it is cleaning up a spill or just chatting with a regular who has nowhere else to be. The kitchen stays warm, and there is always a bit of noise from the street outside. It is just our little corner of the world.
