Iswariyam Shg

Iswariyam Shg is located in the Veerappanchathiram village area, which is part of the Erode Corporation. Erode is a very busy town with lots of people selling cloth and running big businesses. Our group is much smaller than all of that. We are just local ladies who live around Veerappanchathiram. We decided to start this group because we wanted to have something that belonged to us. Most of our day is taken up by kids and housework, but we always find a bit of time for our group activities. We don't have much money to work with, so we just put our small savings together and see what we can do. Some months we might make snacks and other times we do a bit of handiwork. There are no big corporate goals here. We just want to be able to stand on our own two feet without asking for help. Some days are good, but other days we don't get much done if someone is sick or if there is a local festival happening. That’s just how life is in our village. We help each other out whenever there is a need, and that’s what matters most to us. It’s just a group of us doing our best with what we have in our own neighborhood. We are satisfied with that and don't need anything more. Our families see the work we are doing and they are happy for us too. It keeps us busy and connected.
