Erode Weavers Cluster Limited

We are based at RSF No.116/4, D.No.5, on Periyavalasu Road. This is over in the Veerappanchatram Post area of Erode. Erode Weavers Cluster Limited is a place where a lot of local weaving work gets focused. We have many people involved, and the energy in the building is always high. There is a specific rhythm to the weaving here that you can hear as soon as you turn onto Periyavalasu Road. We aren't some big corporation with a shiny lobby; we are a cluster of people who know how to work a loom. The building itself has seen better days, and the paint is peeling in some spots, but it serves its purpose perfectly. We deal with various types of cloth and spend our time checking the tension on the threads and the patterns in the weave. It’s a collective effort, and everyone knows their part. We share the space and the resources, which helps us all stay afloat. Some of the older weavers have been doing this for decades and they show the younger guys the tricks of the trade. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s an honest one. We just want to keep the traditions of Erode weaving alive and keep our hands busy with the work we know best. Every day is about the threads and the machines, and we wouldn't have it any other way. It is just how we are.
