Sangeethame Jeevitham Foundation

You can find us at Glendale Point on Bank Road in Kozhikkode. We’re in the West Block, unit 1-B. The Sangeethame Jeevitham Foundation is mostly about music and how it fits into daily life. Kozhikkode has a lot of history with songs and art, so we felt this was the right place to be. It’s not a huge space, but it’s enough for what we do. We spend a lot of time organizing small events or just talking to people who want to keep local music alive. The office gets a bit dusty because of the road outside, but it’s a good location. We aren't professional promoters or anything like that. We just think music is an important part of being human. Sometimes we have old records lying around, and other times it’s just us planning for the next month. It’s a bit messy sometimes with all the papers and instruments. We don't have a strict schedule, we just show up and get to work. Bank Road is always busy, so there’s always something happening outside our window. We’re just a small part of the community here, trying to make sure the music doesn't stop. It’s a simple life we lead here in the foundation. We don't have corporate backers or big sponsors. We just rely on the folks who care about the arts to keep us going. It's mostly local love for music that fills this office every day of the week.
