S J Traders

Along Town Hall Road in Changampuzha Nagar, you’ll find us tucked into the Kalamassery area. S J Traders is a fairly simple trading business that we run out of a modest storefront. Most of the space is just a large room filled with various goods, though there is a small corner for our desk and chair. Depending on what we can get our hands on and what people are looking for, the inventory changes quite often. My brother and I have been doing this for a long time, so we have a pretty good rhythm. Instead of a fancy computer system or a website to show off, we prefer keeping things local. To keep track of what comes in and what goes out, we just use a basic ledger. Even though the concrete floor has a few cracks here and there, it serves its purpose perfectly well. While we work, we usually have a small radio playing some old songs in the background. Even though Kalamassery is a growing place with a lot of new buildings, our little shop hasn’t changed much over the years. Marketing speak isn't really our thing. When people come in, we just talk to them and try to be helpful. Sometimes it gets a bit messy with all the boxes, but we know where everything is kept. It’s a decent life and we enjoy being our own bosses in this neighborhood.
