Phoebe Gad Consultancy is located way over at Koottala House in Palianthuruth. That’s in the Puthenvelikkara area of Ernakulam. It’s a bit of a trek if you’re coming from the main city center, but we like being out here. The office is basically part of the house, which makes the whole place feel very relaxed and informal. We don’t have any shiny elevators or security guards. Usually, you’ll just find us working on whatever consultancy projects are on the table that week. It’s a lot of reading and typing and the occasional visitor who knows where to find us in Puthenvelikkara. The air is a bit fresher here than in the middle of Kochi, which is a nice plus. We spend a lot of time on the phone or working through spreadsheets. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the usual village sounds and the rain hitting the roof. We started this because we wanted to do our own thing near home. People in the local area know us, and we get some work from further out too. It’s a basic operation with a couple of desks and some old shelves for our records. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay on top of the paperwork that comes with this kind of work. It’s a slow and steady process and we’re happy with that.
