In the Kariyad area, near the Mekkad post office in Nedumbassery, you’ll find Pattarumadom Clinic & Ayurvedic Nursing Home. It’s a peaceful spot, which is good because Ayurvedic work usually requires a bit of calm. The building is an old-style nursing home, nothing like those big modern hospitals. We have rooms for people to stay in while they get their treatments. You can usually smell the herbal oils and medicines cooking in the back. The staff here has been around for a long time, and we tend to do things the way they’ve always been done. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing team; people just know we are here in Mekkad. Outside, there’s some greenery and the sounds of the neighborhood. It’s not far from the airport, so sometimes you hear the planes, but mostly it’s just the wind in the trees. We spend our days preparing the herbs and talking to the people who come to see us. Some stay for a few days, others just for an hour. We treat everyone the same, offering a seat and some water. The floors are stone and the furniture is heavy wood. It’s a solid, honest place. We aren't trying to be something we're not. We just run our clinic and take care of the people who walk through our gates. It is a slow, steady kind of work that we appreciate.
