Olive Furniture

We have our shop at No.31-C, 2250-J in Thammanam. It’s a local spot where we’ve been for quite some time. The place is usually full of different pieces of furniture we’re working on or showing. It’s not a fancy air-conditioned showroom. It’s more of a workshop feel where you can see how things are made. There’s often dust on the floor and the sound of someone hammering in the back. We started this because we liked working with wood and making things that people actually use in their homes. We don’t have a big team of salespeople following you around. If you come in, you can just look around and ask us questions if you have any. We spend a lot of our time sourcing materials and checking on the finishing of the tables and cupboards. Thammanam is a busy neighborhood, and we get a lot of locals just walking in to see what’s new. We don’t do much advertising; most people just hear about us from their neighbors. It’s a simple way to run a business, but it suits us just fine. Sometimes we stay late to finish a piece for a customer who needs it urgently. We just try to be fair and do a good job with the wood we have. It’s not complicated, just day-to-day work that we happen to enjoy. It’s our way of contributing a little bit to the neighborhood and we plan to stay here for a while.
