Ocean Merchants Exports And Imports Private Limited is based out of Keerithodu. We are located at Kochukuruppancheril House, which is the home of Augustine Mathew. It is a very local, personal way of doing business. Kanjikuzhy is the wider area here in the Idukki district. We don't have a big storefront or a glass office building. Instead, we work from this house, handling the trade of various goods. It is a lot of merchant work, buying and selling and figuring out where things need to go. We deal with both exports and imports, so we are always looking at what is available in the local market and what is needed elsewhere. The setting is very rural and green, which is a nice change from the usual business districts. Most of our neighbors are farmers or small business owners themselves. We spend our time managing the transport of items and making sure the people we buy from get a fair shake. It is a lot of paperwork and phone calls, just like any other trade business, but it feels more grounded being in a house. We don't have any fancy mission statements or marketing slogans. We just try to be useful and keep the goods moving from one place to another. It is a simple life but the work is steady and keeps us very busy most weeks.
