You can find us in the Manakal Building, which is located in Thoppumpady. We are very close to the Kannamaly bus stop, so there is always the sound of buses and people outside our window. Ernakulam is a fast-moving city, but our corner here in 682005 has its own pace. The office isn't anything special to look at. We have the usual desks, some filing cabinets that are getting full, and a few chairs for visitors. Manakal Auro Consultants is a small operation. We focus on consulting and helping people with their travel documents. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so the ceiling fans are always spinning. Sometimes people stop in while they are waiting for their bus to arrive. We don't mind the company. The neighborhood is full of small shops and people who have lived here for years. We know the person who sells snacks at the bus stop and the other shopkeepers in the building. Our work is mostly about getting the details right on paper. It takes a lot of patience to deal with all the different rules for travel. We just sit here and go through the files one by one. It's a steady life. We don't do much advertising because word gets around locally. When the day is over, we just lock up and head home like everyone else in Thoppumpady.
