Lourd Hospital

Lourd Hospital is located in Pachalam. It is a fairly well-known spot in this neighborhood. The building is a bit older, with those thick walls and a layout that feels a bit like a maze if you aren't used to it. We have the main entrance right on the street level. Every morning, the first thing we do is sweep the front area and get the registration desk ready for the day. Pachalam is a busy place, especially with the railway gate nearby. You can often hear the trains passing or the sound of the traffic backing up when the gate is closed. Inside the hospital, we try to keep things as orderly as possible. The nurses and the staff have their own rhythm. We have a small canteen area where we get our coffee and have a chat. The furniture is functional, nothing modern or fancy. We don't spend money on glossy brochures or big advertisements. Most of our days are spent just talking to patients and filing the necessary paperwork. It is a very grounded place to work. People come here because it is convenient and they know the faces behind the desk. There is always something that needs fixing, like a leaky tap or a flickering light, but we manage. It is just a regular local hospital serving the people who live around the Pachalam area. We have been here for years now.
