Window Fashions

Down here in Pathirapally, Poomkavu, we’ve got our shop Window Fashions set up. We are right near the electricity office, which makes it easy for folks to find us when they’re out doing their errands. The shop isn't huge, but we keep it filled with all the things we need to get windows looking right. Most of our day is spent measuring things out, looking at fabric, or fixing up frames. It's hands-on work. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we work on whatever order is next. Being near the electricity office means there’s always people walking by or parking nearby. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy with the traffic, but we don't mind much. We’ve been in this spot for a bit, and we know most of the neighbors now. It’s just a regular local business. We don’t go for big advertisements or anything. We just show up, open the shutters, and get to work on the blinds or curtains people need for their houses around here. The humidity can be a bit much some days, but that's just living near the coast for you. We keep a few samples out so people can see what they’re getting, but most of the real work happens in the back. It’s a steady pace, nothing too rushed, just making sure things are cut right and fit where they’re supposed to go.
