Our office is a bit of a mix between a workshop and a planning room. Since we do interiors, we have all sorts of things lying around like wood chips, paint cans, and bits of carpet. It can look a little cluttered, but we know where the important stuff is kept. We spend our mornings looking at designs on the computer and our afternoons visiting houses to see how the work is progressing. It is a lot of small details. You have to make sure the cupboards fit and the paint is the right shade of white. We have a small team of people we’ve worked with for years. We usually have a tea break around four o'clock and sit outside for a few minutes. The junction is always noisy with bikes and buses. We’ve grown used to the sound of the traffic over the years. Building and decorating is messy work, so we don't worry too much about keeping the office floor perfectly clean. We just focus on getting the jobs finished so the owners can move in. It’s a practical business. We don't have a big showroom. We just show people what we are working on at the moment. It seems to work out fine for us.
