You will find us over in the Kizhakkambalam area, right near the P B No 5 post box. This part of Kochi-Ernakulam is always moving, and we are right in the middle of it. Our work is all about kidswear. We have rooms full of patterns for trousers, shirts, and dresses for children who are growing fast. It is a bit different from the baby stuff because everything is just a little bigger and there are more buttons to deal with. The workspace is usually crowded with rolls of cloth. We don't have a big corporate lobby or anything like that. Instead, you walk in and see the cutting tables and the people working. Most of our staff have been coming to this Aluva spot for years. We drink our tea together in the afternoons and talk about the local news. The monsoon months are the hardest because the humidity makes everything feel heavy, but the machines keep clicking away regardless. We spend our mornings checking the stitching and making sure the boxes are labeled right for shipping. It isn't a glamorous place, just a lot of people doing their jobs in a building that has seen plenty of work over the years. We keep the doors open when it's breezy to let the air circulate through the sewing lines. It feels like a small community inside these walls, honestly.
