Our spot is in the Tharagan Building on MG Road in Ernakulam. It’s right across from the Kanoos Theater, so we always know what the latest movie is based on the crowds outside. MG Road is always packed with cars and bikes, and the noise definitely makes its way into our office through the windows. We’ve got a lot of old travel books and brochures sitting on the shelves, some of them a bit dusty from the Ravipuram humidity. The office isn’t huge, but it fits us just fine. We spend our time looking at routes and trying to fix travel plans for people who walk in. The building itself is older, with those heavy doors and slightly narrow hallways that you find in this part of Ravipuram in Ernakulam. When it rains, which happens a lot here, the sound on the roof is quite loud and constant. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background to drown out some of the traffic noise from the street. There’s a small shop nearby that sells the best coffee, and one of us is usually over there at least three times a day. It’s a very local feel here, not like those big polished agencies you see in the malls. We just focus on the work at hand, making sure the bookings are right and the paperwork is sorted before the day ends. We have been working out of this building for a long time.
