Kadathy Rural Development Nidhi Limited

Our office for Kadathy Rural Development Nidhi Limited is located at Koravakkatt House in the Kadathy area. We are out in Mekkadampu, which is a bit of a distance from the main bustle of Muvattupuzha town. It’s a rural setting, so things are a bit quieter here than they would be in the middle of Ernakulam. The building itself is just a regular house that we’ve converted into a working space. You walk in and it feels more like a home than a bank. We have some sturdy desks and a computer that we use for the main records, but a lot of what we do is still handled with paper and pen. People from the surrounding villages come by throughout the day. They might be coming from their fields or their shops, so they often bring a bit of the outside world in with them. We know most of the families around here, which makes the work feel a bit more personal. It isn't a fast-paced environment. We take our time to make sure the numbers are right and that everyone understands what they are signing. Sometimes we have to step outside to take a call because the signal inside the thick walls isn't great. It’s a simple, honest way to spend the day, helping our neighbors with their small savings and loans without any of the fancy talk you hear in the city.
