Izak Foundation

Izak Foundation is right at Tharayil Junction in the Puthumannel Building. The building number is 18/152. Being at a junction means there is always something going on outside. You hear the buses and the bikes pretty much from morning until evening. It’s a good landmark though, because everyone knows Tharayil Junction. Our space inside the Puthumannel Building is quite straightforward. We aren't trying to impress anyone with expensive furniture or modern designs. It’s mostly just desks, some old filing cabinets, and a couple of ceiling fans that have seen better days. When the weather gets humid, those fans are the most important thing in the room. We usually start our day pretty early before the traffic really picks up. The stairs in the building are a bit narrow, so you have to be careful when you're carrying boxes or heavy files up to the office. There’s a small shop nearby that sells snacks and drinks, which is where we end up most afternoons for a quick break. People walk in and out of the building all day for various reasons. It’s a busy little corner of the world. We just try to keep our heads down and get through the list of things we need to finish. It’s a practical place to work, even if it gets a little loud sometimes with the honking outside. We’ve been here long enough that we don't even notice the noise much anymore.
