Haileyburia Tea Estates Ltd.

We’ve been here at Marar Road on Willingdon Island for quite a while now. Most people know the area for the port and the old buildings, and that’s exactly where Haileyburia Tea Estates Ltd. operates from. It is a busy place with trucks coming and going, and the air usually smells a bit like the sea and the tea we handle. We don’t really do anything fancy here, just the daily work of running a tea estate business. Sometimes the humidity is a bit much, but that’s just part of being on the island. My desk is usually covered in papers and sample bags. We see a lot of people passing through Marar Road every day. It’s not a quiet spot by any means. Our office is functional, nothing too modern, just enough space to get the logistics sorted and make sure the tea gets where it needs to go. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, but the way we handle things stays pretty much the same. It’s mostly about keeping track of the harvests and making sure the crates are moved on time. If you walk down towards our end of Willingdon Island, you'll see the signs. It’s a lot of physical work and planning. We just show up, do the job, and head home like everyone else. There isn't some big secret to it, just staying on top of the paperwork and the shipments day in and day out.
