Gopika Dairy Farm

Down in Kongorpilly, you will find us at 11/264A. It is a quiet enough area compared to the city. We run Gopika Dairy Farm from here. It is not some big industrial setup, just a regular place where we look after the animals and get the milk ready for the local deliveries. The cows need a lot of attention, so there is never really a day off. You get used to the smell and the early hours after a while. Most of the time, we are busy cleaning the sheds or making sure the feed is right. The monsoon season makes the ground around here pretty muddy, which is a bit of a hassle for the trucks coming in. We have a small office area, but we spend most of our time outside. It is hard work, and your back usually hurts by the end of the shift. We don't have any fancy machines doing everything; it is mostly done by hand. The neighbors often stop by to chat or pick up a bottle of milk directly. We like being part of the Kongorpilly community. It is a bit out of the way, which suits us just fine. Sometimes we sit on the porch for a minute when the morning rush is over. There is always something that needs fixing, like a fence or a leaky pipe. That is just how life is on a dairy farm. We keep it basic and just do our job every day.
