About Fine Art Emporium Exporters – Art & Craft in Ernakulam
Our place is at 6/140 in Jew Town. If you know the area, you know it’s full of old buildings and narrow streets that get crowded with tourists and locals alike. We’ve been here for a while, tucked into one of these older structures. The walls are thick and it stays a bit cooler inside, which is nice. We deal with a lot of fine art and older pieces that we send all over the place. The back room is always full of bubble wrap and wooden crates because shipping art is a nervous business. You have to be careful with every single piece. It’s not a modern gallery with white walls and bright lights. It’s more of a warehouse that happens to have some very nice things in it. We spend our days talking to shippers and checking the condition of new arrivals. Sometimes we find something really interesting hidden in a corner that we forgot was there. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the stacks of frames and statues. We don't have a big marketing team or anything. We just know the trade and the people who buy this kind of stuff. Jew Town has a lot of history, and we feel like we fit right in with the rest of the shops around here. It’s just a regular day of packing and checking for us. We often have to move things twice just to get to one box at the back, but we've gotten used to the clutter.
