Elobakes & Confectioneries Llp

Elobakes & Confectioneries is based at R C Estate, right near Thykkavu Junction in Vennala. It’s a busy corner of Cochin and you can always hear the bikes and cars zooming past outside. We are at No. 42/1125. The building isn't anything special to look at, but it’s where all the baking happens. Most of the day is spent around the ovens or at the prep tables. It gets hot, especially in the afternoons when the Kerala sun is hitting the walls. We have flour and sugar in bags stacked up against the back wall. Someone is always washing trays or checking the timers. We started this because we liked making things, and now it’s just our daily job. It’s not always pretty. Sometimes things spill, or a batch doesn’t turn out right and we have to start over. Vennala is a good place to be because people are always moving through the junction. We don't spend much time talking about business plans or anything like that. We just look at what orders are in and get to work. By the time the evening rush starts at the junction, we are usually finishing up our last tasks for the day. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and lifting heavy trays, but it’s what we do. We like the local feel of being tucked away in the estate and doing our own thing.
