If you head over to Maradu, you will find us at Cheriyakakramcherry House in the Kundannoor area. This is where Edgarbaijo Exim operates from. We handle export and import tasks, which basically means a lot of time on the phone and even more time filling out forms. It is a family-run sort of vibe here even though we are a private limited company. The house is where we do all the planning and the logistics. Maradu is a busy spot, so there is always something going on outside our windows. We have been at this for a while now, and we have learned that things rarely go exactly as planned in the shipping business. A container might be delayed at the port or a supplier might be short on stock, but we just deal with it as it comes. We aren't trying to be some huge international firm with glass walls. We like being in a regular house where we can have our tea and get through the mountain of emails. The neighbors know us and we know them. It's a practical way to run a business. We focus on the stuff that needs to move from one country to another without making a big fuss about it. It’s hard work, especially with the heat in Kerala, but it’s what we do. The tea stall down the road is where we usually talk through the harder problems. It's a simple life but the work is constant.
