Down here in Koovapady, we've got our setup for making pipes and tubes. It’s a basic operation at number 2. The machines make a lot of noise during the shift. We deal with different types of materials and sizes depending on what people are asking for. It’s mostly local workers here who know the drill. The yard gets pretty full of inventory when we're running at full speed. We load up trucks and send them out. It’s hard work, especially when the weather is hot. We don't have a flashy front office or a big marketing team. It’s just us and the metal. We've seen the area change a bit, but we’re still here doing the same thing. Sometimes the orders are small, sometimes they're huge. We just take them as they come. The floor is usually covered in some dust or scraps from the cutting process. We keep the machines oiled and try to avoid any downtime. Most of the guys have been here long enough to know exactly how the tubes should look. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to get the pipes out the door and keep the business running. It’s a plain, simple factory life. We wake up, come to Koovapady, and get to work. There’s always a cup of tea going somewhere in the back. We don't put on airs here. If the truck is late, we just wait and keep prepping the next batch. It’s just how things go.
