Aswini Hospital. Kerala

Most people tell their friends to just look for the Big Bazaar in Thrissur. We are right opposite that big store. Being in Kerala, we get a lot of rain during the monsoon, so the hospital entrance is always prepared with mats and stands for umbrellas. Aswini Hospital has been sitting here in this part of Thrissur for a long time. It is a busy area with lots of shoppers and traffic passing by all day. Inside, it is a bit quieter than the street, but not by much. We have people coming in from all over the district. The staff speaks the local language and we try to make everyone feel okay when they are worried. We have different floors for different things. Sometimes the elevator is slow, so we just take the stairs. It keeps us moving. The view from the upper windows shows the busy market area across the street. We don't have a lot of fancy signs or advertisements. The name on the front is enough for people to find us. It feels like a very local place. We know the shopkeepers nearby and they know us. Working here means you are always in the thick of things. There is a sense of routine even when things get hectic. We just focus on the people who walk in the door every morning. Thrissur is a lively place to be, and we are right in the heart of it.
