Ashta Laxmi Foundation

Our base for Ashta Laxmi Foundation is at Kaniamparambil House in Kodamthuruthu. It’s located in the Kuthiathode area, which is a place where most people know each other. It’s not a commercial building or a big office block; it’s more of a local setup. We work out of this space because it’s convenient and keeps us close to the community. You might see us sitting on the porch sometimes or working inside when it’s raining. There’s a lot of greenery around here, and it’s usually pretty quiet except for the occasional motorbike passing by or a neighbor saying hello. We don’t have fancy receptionists or a waiting room with magazines. If you come by, you’re basically coming to a local house. We keep our records in a few cupboards and use a big table for most of our work. It’s an honest way to run things, we think. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just take a break until it comes back on. Dealing with things from Kuthiathode P.O. means we are quite connected to the local rhythm. It's a small operation, just a few of us handling the daily bits and pieces. We don't try to look bigger than we are. It’s just a steady, local place where we get our work done without any extra flashiness. People find us easily enough just by asking around the neighborhood and looking for the Kaniamparambil house.
