Abhishek Carpets & Decor

Our shop, Abhishek Carpets & Decor, is located in the Sulakshna building on Pt Usha Road in Cochin. It is a part of town that has a lot of history, and we have been here for a long time. When you walk inside, the first thing you notice is the smell of the different fabrics and materials. We have carpets stacked up and rolls of flooring materials tucked into corners. It is not a very modern showroom with bright lights and fancy displays. Instead, it is a place where we actually work with the items we sell. We spend our time helping people figure out what might look okay in their homes or measuring out pieces of carpet. There are usually a few of us here, and we handle everything from unloading the new stock to helping a customer carry something to their car. We don't have a big corporate strategy. We just know a lot about rugs and decor because we have been doing this every day for years. The Pt Usha Road area is busy, but we have our own pace inside the shop. Sometimes we are busy cutting pieces to size, and other times we are just tidying up the stacks. It is a very manual kind of job. We like the local feel of being in Cochin and seeing familiar faces return after several years when they want to change something in their house again. It is honest work and it keeps us occupied.
