Thirumala Balaji Spares is tucked away at 4-3-257 on Gun Bazaar Road. This part of Powerpet is always active. We deal in spares, which means our shop is usually full of boxes and small parts. It’s not the neatest place you’ll ever see, but we have a system that works for us. We know where the old parts are and where the new ones go. Most of our customers are people from the neighborhood who are trying to fix something. They come to us because we’ve been on Gun Bazaar Road for a long time. We don't do much advertising. People mostly hear about us from their neighbors or friends. It’s a small family-run business. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a big reception desk. You just walk in and talk to whoever is behind the counter. Usually, that’s one of us. We spend a lot of time looking through catalogs and checking inventory. It can be a bit tedious, but it’s part of the job. We like the fact that we can help someone get their machine or vehicle running again. It’s a practical kind of work. We aren't looking to expand into some giant corporation. We’re happy right here in Powerpet, keeping things moving one part at a time. It’s been our way of life for years and we don't plan on changing it much. We just keep going, day after day, part by part.
