Shivani Jute Diversified Products

Down here at Sri Sai Ram Nagar, we’ve been working with jute for a good while. The address is 1-1-32/752/50, which is over in Kapra, near the Ecil Post. We call ourselves Shivani Jute Diversified Products. It’s a bit of a long name for a local workshop, but it covers what we do. We make all sorts of things out of jute. It's a messy material sometimes, bits of fiber everywhere, but it's sturdy. The workshop isn't the cleanest place because of all the cutting and sewing, but it's where the work gets done. We aren't some big corporation with hundreds of workers. It’s just a small team of us here in Kapra. We spend most of our time at the machines or checking the quality of the raw jute we get in. People around the neighborhood know us as the jute place. We don't spend money on fancy ads or anything. We just focus on making the bags and other items people need. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend the afternoon fixing them. That's just how it goes. We like being in this part of town near the post office. It’s a good community and we’re happy to be part of it, just doing our daily work with our hands. It's a lot of repetition but we find a rhythm in it and keep going until the sun goes down.
