This specific branch is tucked away on the second floor of the spare parts building. It is not like the big car showrooms you see with shiny floors and bright lights. This place is more about metal shelves and heavy boxes. We spend most of our shift counting inventory and making sure the right parts go to the right mechanics who are waiting for them. The air smells like oil and new rubber which you get used to after a week or so of working here. We have a small office area with a couple of chairs that have the stuffing coming out. It is a lot of walking back and forth between the rows of racks every single day. Sometimes the lift for the heavy parts gets stuck and we have to wait for the technician to come and fix it. We keep a logbook on the main counter where we write down everything that comes in and goes out. It is a bit old fashioned but it works for us and keeps things from getting lost. The windows are high up so we do not see much of the outside world during the day. We are a small team and we mostly just focus on getting the orders filled so the vehicles can get back on the road. It is honest work and there is a certain satisfaction in knowing where every single bolt is kept.
