Our small group is set up at Dilip Kumar Bhakat’s place over in Kalikapur. It’s right in the Jadugora area of East Singhbhum. If you know the roads around here, you know it’s a lot of trees and dust. We’ve been operating out of 832102 for a while now. It’s not a big corporate setup. It’s just a house where we keep our stuff and meet up to plan things. We spend a lot of time traveling between the local villages because that’s where the real work is. Sometimes the roads are bad, especially when it rains, so we end up stuck for a few hours. We don't mind much. It gives us time to talk to the neighbors. There’s a lot of talk about development in Singhbhum, but we just focus on the small things we can actually touch. We aren't trying to change the whole world overnight. We just want to make sure the people in Kalikapur have someone to talk to when they need help with something basic. It gets loud sometimes when the whole team is in the office, but it’s a good kind of noise. Most of us have lived here our whole lives, so we know the names of everyone on the street. It’s just a local thing, run by local people who care about the dirt under their feet. We are just trying to be useful where we live and make things a little easier for everyone.
