Ucil

Our office is located at Qr No C-1/3 in the Ucil Turamdih Colony. Being out here in Sundernagar, Jharkhand, is quite different from being in a big city. It is a company colony, so things are very organized but also very quiet. We have been working out of this quarter for quite a while. The surroundings are mostly residential, with a lot of trees and open spaces between the buildings. Ucil is part of the landscape here. Most of our days are spent following a very set routine. We wake up, walk over to the office, and start on the day's logs and reports. It’s a practical environment. We don’t have any need for big glass windows or fancy carpets. The rooms are plain and functional, which suits the kind of work we do. In the evenings, the colony gets very peaceful, and you can hear the birds or the sound of the wind. Sometimes the dust from the nearby roads gets into everything, so we spend a lot of time cleaning our desks. Life in Singhbhum is steady. We don't have many visitors from outside the area, so it’s usually just the same faces every day. We know the postman and the other workers in the colony well. It’s a simple life where work and home are very close together. We just focus on getting our jobs done correctly and looking after the place where we spend so much of our time.
