Grasim Industries Ltd. (White Cement Division)

You can find us at Flat No: 61/E in the Adrashnagar Colony, over in the 7th Phase North area of Sonari. This is the White Cement Division of Grasim Industries Ltd. here in Jamshedpur. Working out of a flat makes things feel a bit more personal and less like a cold office. We deal with the Jharkhand side of the business from this space. Most of our work is making sure the white cement gets to the right distributors and handling the local accounts. It’s a residential area, so it’s pretty calm compared to the industrial zones. We have our files, a couple of old desks, and a lot of tea. We spend a good chunk of the day on the phone with customers or checking on shipments coming into the city. It’s not a high-tech operation; we rely a lot on our notebooks and just talking to people. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just wait it out or work by the window. We’ve been in Jamshedpur for a long time and know the local market well. We don’t put on any airs about what we do. It’s just about getting the product moved and keeping the numbers right in the books. It’s a simple life in the colony, and we like the steady pace of it all.
