G. P. Sales

If you know Jugsalai, you know how packed it gets, especially on Dharamshala Road. That is where G. P. Sales is located. We have been here for years, right in the middle of all the chaos. Our shop isn’t very large, so we have to stack the stock pretty high to make everything fit. It can be a real puzzle trying to find a specific item when a customer is waiting. The morning starts with us moving some of the displays out onto the sidewalk just to have enough room to walk inside. We get all sorts of people coming through the door. Some are looking for something very specific and others just want to compare prices. We spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers, trying to figure out when the next delivery will actually arrive. The traffic outside is constant, with horns honking and people shouting, but you stop noticing it after an hour or two. We have a small desk in the back where we keep the ledger and the old computer that takes forever to start up. It is a bit cramped and the lighting could be better, but it works for us. We just try to get through the pile of orders and make sure the deliveries go out on the right trucks. It’s a busy life here in the market, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
