Bakshi Tent & Decorators (Raja)

We’ve been here in Golmuri at 1/5, Punjabee Refuzee Colony for quite a while now. Most people know us because we are right near Krishna Mandir and the R D Tata School. It’s a busy spot, especially when school gets out or during temple festivals. Bakshi Tent & Decorators (Raja) is where we keep all our supplies. We spend most of our mornings checking the fabric, poles, and the various decorative bits we use for setups. It gets dusty, but that’s just how it is. Sometimes someone walks in asking for a few chairs, other times it’s a whole wedding setup we have to organize. Raja stays busy with the bookings while the rest of us handle the heavy lifting. We load the trucks right there on the street. It’s not a fancy office, just a workspace where we get things done. We know the neighbors well and the kids from the school pass by every day. If you are looking for the shop, just find the temple and we are a short walk from there. We keep things simple and try to make sure every tent is put up straight and stays that way. There is always a lot of tea drinking and planning going on. We don't have a big corporate team, just a few of us who know how to tie knots and arrange flowers properly. It is just honest work that keeps us going every day in this neighborhood.
