Safety Engg

Safety Engg is based up here in Gangtok, right in the Lal Market area. If you know Sikkim, you know the roads can be a bit tricky, but we’re right in the middle of things. We share space with S. Tiwari and it’s a pretty busy spot most days. We focus on safety engineering stuff, so we’re usually surrounded by gear and technical manuals. It’s not a big fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s more of a practical place where we can sit down and look at plans or talk to people who come in. The market is always loud and there’s always something going on outside our door. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the shop owners nearby. Sometimes the weather gets a bit cold up here in the mountains, so we drink a lot of tea while we work. We aren't really into big speeches or trying to sell people things they don't need. We just provide the engineering help that folks around here look for. It’s a small operation and we like it that way because we can actually talk to our customers like neighbors. We don't have a huge staff, just a few of us who know the business. Working in Gangtok has its own set of challenges, especially with getting supplies in, but we make it work. It's just home for us and we keep things simple every single day.
