Transport

Our office is tucked away in Srojini Bhawan, right near the Khanjanchak post office in Haldia. It is a humble spot, but it serves us well for the transport work we do. Being in West Bengal, we deal with a lot of humidity and rain, which sometimes makes the paperwork a bit soggy if we aren't careful. We don't have a big team of executives; it’s just a few of us who know the local roads and the port area really well. The building itself is an older one and we share the space with a few other small businesses. We spend most of our mornings drinking tea and checking the schedules for the day. There is always a lot of noise from the trucks outside, but you eventually stop noticing it. We don't use any high-tech systems to track things. We have a big whiteboard where we write everything down so we don't forget. It is a bit messy at times, but we know where everything is. If the road to the port is blocked, we tell you straight. It is just a basic transport office where we try to do a good job every day without any of the corporate talk or fancy labels.
