Our small team works out of Vill-Banamali Kalua, which is tucked away in the Kelomal area near Tamluk. Being in Purba Medinipur means we are always surrounded by the hum of trucks and the smell of the outdoors. The office itself is just a basic building with enough chairs for the staff and a few desks piled with logbooks. We handle the Haldia Logistics work from here, mostly coordinating how goods get from the local industrial hubs to wherever they need to go next. It’s a lot of talking to drivers and making sure the lorries are in good shape for the long hauls. The dust around here is something else, especially during the dry months, so we are always cleaning the windows just to see out. We don't really do anything flashy. Most days are just about checking manifests and making sure the gate is clear for the incoming traffic. If a truck breaks down nearby, someone from the office usually heads out to see what’s going on. It’s a bit chaotic sometimes when five drivers show up at once asking for their fuel money, but we manage to sort it out. We like the quiet of the evenings after the main rush is over. It’s just how we do things here, nothing more and nothing less. Just people working in a village to keep things moving along the highway.
