Essar Logistics Ltd

Working at Essar Logistics over in Vill-Bhabanipur is a bit of an experience. We are located in the Debhog area, which is part of the whole Haldia setup in West Bengal. Because it’s an industrial zone, there is always this layer of soot and noise that you just get used to after a week. Our office is right there in the middle of it all. We spend most of our time dealing with the paperwork for the heavy loads coming in and out of the district. It’s a lot of checking numbers and making sure the stamps are in the right places on the forms. The guys in the office are local, so we usually speak in Bengali and share our lunches. It can get pretty hectic when the ships are being unloaded and all the trucks are trying to get to the docks at once. You’ll see us running around with clipboards trying to keep some kind of order in the yard. It’s definitely not a place for someone who likes a quiet desk job. We deal with the rain, the heat, and the occasional strike without making much of a fuss about it. It’s just the nature of the business in a place like Purba Medinipur. We don't try to sound like some big city corporation because we aren't. We're just a bunch of people making sure the logistics side of things doesn't fall apart during the day.
