Star Cement

Our place in Shillong is located at C/O J. B Pun C.E, which is right behind the ITI in Lower Rynjah. This is where we run things for Star Cement in this part of Meghalaya. Shillong is a beautiful place, but the terrain makes the cement business a bit of a challenge. We are located near P.O Umpling, and the hills around here are always a factor in how we get things done. The office is straightforward and humble. We share the space and focus on the local distribution. It rains a lot here, so we spend a lot of time making sure the logistics account for the weather. It’s not like working in a big city office; it’s much more grounded. We talk to local builders and people fixing up their homes. The people working here are locals who understand the roads and the timing needed to move heavy loads through the mountains. We don't have any fancy mission statements on the wall, just calendars and delivery schedules. It’s a quiet but steady pace of work. We’ve been part of the Lower Rynjah community for a while, and we just try to be a reliable spot where people can get their cement questions answered. It’s hard work, especially with the hills, but it’s what we do.
