This is the Shillong Institute of Hotel and Hospitality Management LLP. We are tucked away near Seven Set School in the Malki area. It's a busy little neighborhood, especially when school lets out. We started this because we saw a lot of young people around here needing some actual skills for work. We aren't some big university with a massive campus. It's just a few rooms where we teach the basics of how to run a hotel and handle guests. I spend a lot of my time just making sure we have enough supplies for the practical lessons. Sometimes the roof leaks a bit when it rains hard, which is often in Shillong, but we just put a bucket under it and keep going. We don't use fancy textbooks much; it’s more about doing the work. You’ll find us here most days of the week, talking to students or trying to fix a broken chair. It’s a bit cramped sometimes, but we make it work. The neighbors are used to seeing us around. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything. Most people find out about us through word of mouth or because they live in Malki. It’s just a practical place for people who want to learn a trade. We keep things down to earth because that's what hospitality actually is when you get down to it. We aren't fancy, but we get the job done.
