Linnet Exports

Linnet Exports operates out of Mira Cottage on Nongrimbah Road. If you know the Laitumkhrah area at all, you know it can get pretty crowded with traffic and all the students walking around. Our office is basically part of the house. It feels much more like a home than a business most days of the week. We have cardboard boxes piled up in the hallways sometimes when a big shipment is going out. The weather here in Shillong usually means we’re working in the mist or the rain, so we have to keep everything wrapped up tight so it doesn't get damp. We’ve been at this location for years. The neighbors know us well by now. We deal with various goods for export, mostly handling the paperwork and making sure the quality is what it should be before things leave. It’s a small operation. Just a few of us sitting at desks, making phone calls and checking our lists. We don't even have a big sign out front. People usually just find the cottage and knock on the door. Sometimes the dogs in the street make a lot of noise when the delivery trucks come by to pick up stuff. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except when deadlines are close. We try to keep things organized but with all the papers and samples everywhere, it gets a bit messy. That's just how it goes when you're busy.
