Eli Warjri

Eli Warjri is our small setup here in Shillong. We are located at Malki Nongshilliang, right near Sevenset School. The office is actually part of Martian Mawthhoh’s place. It is a quiet neighborhood for the most part, though it gets a bit busy when school lets out. We have been operating from this spot for quite a while now. It’s not one of those big, fancy corporate offices you see in the movies. It’s just a few rooms where we get our work done. Most days, it is just us sitting around the desks, handling the paperwork and talking to people who drop by. We deal with a lot of local matters. The PIN code for our area is 793001. Being in Meghalaya, the weather can be a bit unpredictable. Sometimes the rain gets so heavy we can barely hear ourselves talk, but we just keep going. We don't have a huge staff. It’s just a handful of us who know each other well. We have a routine that works. Someone usually makes tea in the afternoon. We don't have a big mission statement or anything like that. We just come in, do what needs to be done, and then head home to our families. It’s a practical way to run things. We’ve seen the school change over the years and the roads get busier. But our little office stays pretty much the same. It’s a comfortable place for us to work every day.
