Don Bosco Technical School

You will find Don Bosco Technical School on the Main Road, very close to the Shillong Pathedral in Naicumkhrah. It is a busy part of the city, so there is always a lot of noise and movement right outside our front doors. This is a technical school, so the work here is a bit more hands-on than what you see at other places. We have workshops and various rooms where the students can actually get to work with their hands and learn different trades. It is often a bit noisy inside because of the sounds of tools or machines, but we are all used to that. The building is older, but it is solid and does the job well. We see many people walking past on their way to the Pathedral or the local shops every day. Inside, the floors are a bit worn down from years of students walking back and forth, but we try to keep them clean. The staff members are mostly local people who have lived in Naicumkhrah for a long time. Folks from all around Naicumkhrah have known this spot for years. We do not have any fancy decorations or big signs. We just focus on the equipment and the classrooms where the teaching happens. It is a very practical kind of place for people who want to learn a skill. We keep a regular schedule, starting early and finishing up by the afternoon. Even when the traffic on Main Road is bad, we just keep working away inside.
