Dhar Construction Company

We’ve been running Dhar Construction Company from this spot in Qualapatty for a while now. If you know Shillong, you know how it is around Chapel Road—lots of narrow turns and the weather changes every five minutes. Most days we are just busy keeping up with the rain and making sure our sites don't get washed out. Mr. A. D. Ropmay helps keep things organized here. It's not a big fancy office, just a place where we get the paperwork done after spending the whole day out on the site. We handle all sorts of building work around Meghalaya. Sometimes it’s a bit of a struggle getting materials up the hills, but we manage. You’ll mostly find us talking about cement prices or looking for reliable laborers who don't mind the cold mornings. The address is a bit of a mouthful, but locals know where Dabs Knick Knack is near the chapel. We don't really do much advertising because most people just hear about us from their neighbors or see our trucks parked somewhere. It's honest work, and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes even Sundays if a wall needs finishing. We just try to get the job done right so the next house doesn't have leaks when the monsoon hits hard. That’s pretty much us, just a bunch of guys in Shillong trying to build things that last through the damp winters and the heavy summer rains.
