Our place is situated at Lummawbah in Block Iv, which is right around the 3 Mile area in Upper Shillong. It is a part of Meghalaya that feels very local and lived-in. We do a lot of work involving digital presentations and document formatting, which means we spend a lot of time staring at our screens and making sure things are lined up properly. The office is pretty straightforward. We have decent desks, chairs that are comfortable enough for a full day of work, and plenty of power outlets to keep everything running. We do not have any fancy art on the walls or a big reception desk to impress people. Mostly, it is just a group of us who live in the surrounding villages and come here to get our work done. When it rains heavily, which it does a lot in Shillong, the sound on the roof is quite loud, but we just keep working through it. We like the quiet atmosphere of this location because it helps us concentrate on the small details that matter. We do not use a lot of complicated language about what we do; we just take the tasks we are given and try to finish them correctly and on time. Most days, we are here from the early morning until the sun starts to set over the hills. It is a good, honest environment where everyone knows what they are supposed to be doing and does it well.
