Our business is based in Brishyrnot, which is a part of the Lumshnong area in the East Jaintia Hills. If you have ever been up this way, you know it is the heart of the cement industry in this part of the country. We are right there in the thick of it. The weather here is a major factor in our daily lives. When it rains, it really pours, and we spend a lot of time making sure the stock stays dry. We aren't a big, polished company with a marketing team. We are just a local operation dealing with cement. Our yard is usually full of activity, with trucks coming in and out at all hours. The office is just a small corner where we keep the ledger and handle the paperwork. It is often a bit noisy because of the machinery nearby, but you get used to it after a while. Most of the guys working here live nearby in the hills. We don't have any fancy slogans or a mission statement. We just focus on getting the loads out on time and making sure the counts are right. It is heavy work and we all go home pretty tired. Sometimes the roads are blocked or there's a delay, but that's just how life is in the Jaintia Hills. We take things as they come and try to be fair with everyone who walks through the gate.
