Nayana Eye Care

Our eye care center is located on Ramalayam Street in Velamala Turangi. It’s a quiet spot near Kakinada, right in the East Godavari District. The building number is 1-108, and it’s easy to spot because we are right near the temple. People from all over the village and the nearby areas come here when they have trouble with their vision. We have been here for a few years now, and the street has stayed pretty much the same. It’s a local place where we know many of our patients by their first names. We don’t have a big waiting room with fancy furniture, just some plastic chairs and a desk for the registers. The sun gets really strong here in Andhra, so we keep the shutters halfway down to stay cool. We spend our time checking eyes and helping people find a pair of glasses that fits them. It’s a simple life here in the village. Sometimes the cows wander down the street right past the front door. We aren’t trying to be a big city hospital. We just provide a place where locals can get their eyes looked at without traveling too far. Most days are busy with old folks and kids coming in after school. We just do the work as it comes and try to be fair with everyone who visits. The evening usually gets a bit quieter when the temple bells start ringing nearby.
