Government Hospital

We've been here on Visnulayam Street in Yanam for quite some time now. It’s a busy spot, especially being so close to Kakinada. People come in from all over the local area. The building has seen better days, but it holds up. Most mornings start with a line of people waiting outside before we even get the keys in the locks. It gets pretty humid here, and the fans in the waiting area try their best, but sometimes it just stays hot. We see a lot of the same faces from the neighborhood. You get to know families over the years. Some days are quieter than others, though that doesn't happen often. There’s always someone needing something, whether it’s just a quick check or something more serious. Our staff is mostly locals who live nearby, so we walk to work or take a short rickshaw ride. The street outside is always noisy with traffic and people going about their business. We just keep things moving as well as we can. There isn't much fancy about this place. It’s a government building, so it has that specific smell of cleaning supplies and old paper. We spend a lot of time filing things and talking to patients who are worried about their health. It's just a regular part of life here in Yanam. We don't have all the newest gadgets, but we make do with what's available. It's a job that keeps us on our feet all day and we just keep at it.
