Area Hospital

We are right on Panchayat Road, which stays pretty busy with scooters and people walking by all day. The hospital has been here for a good while, and the building looks its age. The front steps are a bit worn down from everyone coming in and out over the years. We have a small area in the front where people park their cycles and bikes. Inside, the lights are those long tubes that flicker a bit when you first turn them on in the morning. We don’t have any fancy decorations on the walls, just some old notices and a clock that’s five minutes fast. The rooms are basic with simple beds and metal stands. We spend a lot of time cleaning because the dust from Panchayat Road always finds its way inside. It’s a local place, so we often see the same people every week. The staff usually brings lunch from home and we eat together in the small back room when there’s a break. Sometimes the water pressure is low, so we have to use buckets. It’s not like those big city hospitals you see on the news. We just handle the people who walk in and try to keep things moving as best as we can. Every evening we lock the main gate and go home to our own families in the same neighborhood. It’s just our daily routine on Panchayat Road.
